Poetry Friday 23

The juggernaut steams on. Four poems for you this week although they are still works in progress.

Lotus
Gracious
graceful
A lotus flower;
pure
beautiful.
Emerging from the muddy waters,
a smile.
From wrong,
comes right.

Three’s a crowd
Feeling like a gooseberry
on my own date.
There’s three of us here.
Me, her and her phone.
Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat,
who knows what captures her
attention and leaves me
watching the top of her head.
I can’t compete with APPsent
friends.
Their omnipresence haunts our liaison.
Then she looks up and smiles.
This was fun – she says,  shall we do it again?

Stupendously
Signs of happiness.
Tastes and moments of time.
Update status.
Put it out there.
This one moment of
enjoyment
in a life less ordinary.
No one needs to know the doldrums,
that haunt you so.
Outwardly you project
utter contentment.
So when they ask you –
how’s life going?
You answer –
stupendously.

And a little haiku to finish. It's a bit rude.

A Shanghai Surprise
A tinder date of
elegance, beauty and charm.
Shame she had a dick.

Join me next week for Poetry Friday 24, maybe.
